The subject matter for this portrait comes from the Library of Congress photography collection. The subject is a wet plate collodion print on glass labeled Miss Barber with a date of 1901-1903. The medium is a mixture of acrylic, oil, printed typographic collage elements, chalk and charcoal on gessoed canvas. I have been painting portraits referencing the early days of photography in hopes of creating images that appear old yet new and therefore timeless.
