About The Artwork

Daffodils, heralds of spring and symbols of renewal, dance gracefully in the sunlight, their golden trumpets announcing the arrival of a new season. Native to Europe and North Africa, daffodils have long inspired poets and artists with their vibrant hues and cheerful demeanor. With their resilience and radiant beauty, daffodils embody hope and optimism, infusing landscapes and artworks alike with a sense of joy and rejuvenation. My name is Mason Holcomb, and I was born in Alabama in 1995. I'm an artist, designer, and curator known for my dedication to the visual arts and community engagement. My journey began when I started working in a nonprofit art gallery after high school. I quickly climbed the ranks to become Executive Director while also pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During my time at MountainValley Arts Council (MVAC), I honed my skills in curation and community outreach. Some of the highlights of my career include solo exhibitions such as "Vignettes" and "Reify," as well as numerous collaborations and group shows across Alabama. My artistic repertoire spans across 2D paintings, 3D sculpture, mixed-media, and Augmented Reality (AR), which I utilize to craft immersive experiences for my audience. After relocating to Fayetteville, Arkansas, I served as Curatorial Associate at Art Ventures NWA before deciding to focus solely on my artistic practice. My work delves into themes of identity and connection, often emphasizing tactile elements and hand symbolism. Through mediums like acrylic, oil, watercolor, and AR, I aim to challenge the conventional boundaries of art and cultivate meaningful connections with my viewers.
