About The Artwork

At the time I painted this picture, I was moved to hear they were going to build a wall all along the Mexican border with the United States. I then thought of creating some pictures depicting a latin influence or somehow invation of Manhattan. On this particular painting, I borrowed the dog of the Las Meninas painting by Diego Velazquez as a symbol of the latin presence in this country.
