About The Artwork
"Nocturnal Visions" was created by my inspiration of the "blue hour" which is my favorite time of day. It is that magic hour, the between space of twilight when the Sun is deep into the horizon. When the world is bathed in the most exquisite blue hue. It is truly a mystical and magical time of day when anything is possible. "Nocturnal Visions" has multiple layers of paint and plaster to create depth. I applied reductive markings and scrapings to reveal layers of paint and added texture to the work. The painting is signed on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The painting is coated twice with UV Archival Varnish to protect the painting and place felt pads on the back to protect the wall. The artwork is on wrapped canvas and all four sides are painted and ready to hang. Shipping Details: To protect against moisture, the artwork is first wrapped in glassine paper and then either covered with plastic sheeting/poly wrap or put inside a heavy plastic bag. The artwork ships in a reinforced cardboard box. All four corners of the painting are encased in foam and the piece is thrice bubble wrapped.

I am an abstract painter expressing my work by exploring the relationship between nature and our environment. Using dialogue between the two can be my best source of inspiration. The tactility of multiple textures and building of layers, are the backbones of my pieces. The severity of the elements can age and weather and create the most interesting designs. The distressed look of patina on metal and dilapidating walls intrigues me by their abstract surfaces and patterns. These textures and layers give depth and dimension to my paintings and are common elements in all my series. I currently live and work in the Berkshires on Western Massachusetts.
