Katia Setti is a professional artist working in a variety of artistic realms, including oil, watercolor and mixed media painting, illustration, and mural painting. Influenced by Impressionist, Expressionist and Environmental artists, she specializes mainly in creating large scale and plein air paintings characterized by highly textured, saturated surfaces reflective of her Latin-Italian background. Born in Guatemala City, Katia spent most of her childhood in a small town in the province of Florence, Italy experiencing the outdoors of the Tuscan countryside while traveling extensively to countries in Europe, North and South America, the Caribbean, and Africa. These multicultural experiences, as well as her studies in Fine Arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy, influenced much of her work today. After having graduated from the University of South Florida with two Magna Cum Laude Bachelor's Degrees in Studio Art and International Studies she worked as a member of the Santaella Studios for the Arts in Tampa, Florida. She now lives and works in both Tampa and Manhattan, Kansas.
