Chloe is an artist who can't help but look closer at the simple things in life. This painting depicts a self folding bound of seaweed, that was found and captured on the very beach Chloe Jean Brown Grew up on (Cullercoats Bay, North East England). Chloe could see beyond the brown colour of this plant leading her to pick up hits of ocean blue, Burnt Sienna, greens and Purples. Chloe couldn't help but think of the journey this tuft of seaweed must have traveled to land right before her. Although this painting is sold unframed, hanging hardware is included. I am fascinated by the closer intricacies found in natural objects, plants are my current obsession, more specifically seaweed. Seaweed is particularly fascinating to me because of the accidental compositions the aquatic plant finds itself in when washed up on the shore. The seaweed I find is assumingly untouched, only transported via current to land on the sand of Cullercoats Bay. I find similarities between myself and the seaweed. We each have travelled turbulent distances to eventually land somewhere new, for the ocean to pull us back home again. I grew up on the beach where I photograph my subjects, yet it took me to move away from my home to become aware of its beauty (the beach and the seaweed). My work is a visual diary of my observations and a love note to my home before I return to the ocean again.
