About The Artwork
This contemporary work was inspired by the wet tropics in the Daintree national park, Australia. I live in the heart of the oldest rainforest in the world. The Pandanus is a native tree, they adorn the Daintree coast line and add lovely cool shade in the hot summer. This is a digital print on cotton rag archival paper overpainted in acrylic paint completely with Japanese ink, plaster and varnish. This was a large print that had gone wrong of an original oil painting and rather than destroying the print I decided to create a better work than the original by over painting. It turned out much better. This peice is double framed an off white masters insert 35 mm and 35 mm raw oak outter frame.
