About The Artwork

After ten years from creating the original Phoenix and the Strongmen, exploring the team of rebirth, melting walls, freeing from chains I came across the excellent photo of the male nude by Jaap de Jonge [listed here on Saatchi art]. I immediately fell in love with his spectacular photograph and knew this was my next Phoenix, after receiving the author's permission to paint the piece I started work. The female figure's author I could not find :( [So if any of you knows the author, please- direct me!!] I had the photo sent by a friend in the form of print-screen. And here is the result. I know that each of you will tell a different story when looking at this painting, but I will tell you mine. He is the Phoenix, reborn from ashes, bringing fire to melt the ceiling of ice separating the female figure from freedom. She is the Atlas, doomed to carry the burden of her own imprisonment. Her revival is slow, drop by drop, but inevitable. Once the last ice melts she will be free.

Artist statement: My art comments the world of the 21st century. I am interested in modern technologies and their impact on mankind. I love science and follow the latest discoveries. I am watchfully observing the recently resurrected space race. The computer is my faithful friend that I know, understand and respect. My protagonists think by means of algorithms. For me human is an endangered species, and the current Superman is called Elon Musk. I like precision, cleanliness and clarity of the message. I'm not romantic, I'm emphatic. This is not painting from the world of our grandparents, you are looking at art from the world of your grandchildren. And a bit of my biography. I am a Polish artist living and working in Lodz, Poland, member of ZPAP - Polish Association of Professional Artists, painter from the Oscar niminated "Loving Vincent" film - world's first fully painted feature film produced by Breakthru Films and directed by Dorota Kobiela. Main theme is humans vs. technology. Favourite media: oil on canvas, watercolour pencils.
