About The Artwork
The Piccole Terre (Small Lands) are places halfway between what is already here and what is not yet. Imagination feeds on what we have seen and pushes towards what we have not yet seen: the contemplation of reality thus leads to the vision of elsewhere, of a "not yet", of a "maybe". The organic shapes of these paintings, and the shades of earth and sky, water and vegetation, recall "my" small lands, those of daily life or travel, and create an abstract dimension in which enjoyment unfolds with the colors and marks on the canvas. Cristina Dalla Valentina is an Italian painter born in Verona: she has been in the art industry for over 18 years and specialized in contemporary abstracts on canvas using acrylic colors, inks and textile collages with techniques ranging from liquid painting to mixed media. Her artistic practice focuses on the attempt to combine formal and geometric elements with more instinctive and organic features: colors play a role of primary importance in this because they underline this attempt and enhance it from an emotional point of view.
