About The Artwork

Mark Allen uses watercolor and images from advertisements and magazines to envision a world of genetic modification. A Pineapple with a cat face? Sure, why not? A whimsical critique of our modern age: commenting on popular culture, modern science, and the symbolic reverence of the Pineapple. Mark Allen is an artist based in Venice Beach, California. He began watercolor painting as a child, and was taught by his father, Mark Alford from Kansas City. A recent graduate of Pepperdine University, Mark Allen has exhibited and performed his artworks around the world. You can find more of his work on his website: www.markallenconcepts.com

Mark Allen is an artist, photographer, and designer based in Venice Beach, California. His work is varied in sense of medium and theme, but remains consistently conceptual. He enjoys playing with audience perception of visual images and symbols, and is especially interested in the elements of water and fire. As a Leo Sun and Scorpio Moon, his work is loud but seeks to delve into the deeper mysteries of life. At the core of his artistic philosophy, Allen believes that all humans are divine creators, capable of constructing a peaceful and functional society. Born 1991, United States. Currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. Graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.
