About The Artwork
I have been working with recycled materials, in this case cardboard, due to the invented eco crisis. I used the cut out KAWS 'Michelin Man' already embedded into the sub-conscience as 'successful art'. So I see KAWS as a kind of art placebo (A substance that has positive effects as a result of a patient's perception that it is beneficial rather than as a result of a causative ingredient). In my opinion, it has no real substance, rather like the air used to inflate a tyre. If the exterior is punctured, its interior will be released and deflate the exterior. This it what is depicted in the image, as a result of arrows shot into the back of the blind character. The colours Ive used show the physical and metaphysical. The artwork crowned by the world as great is black, dark but the arrows puncturing the physical darkness are light. THIS IS A CARDBOARD CUT OUT
