About The Artwork

Edwards Path is a track on Dartmoor National Park, below Gutter Tor, that I have walked for over 35 years but, until very recently, did not know it was named as such. This fact intrigued me and started a thought process about the physical act of walking the path and as a metaphor for the path through life's experiences. This expressive semi abstract, landscape oil painting, continues a body of work where the catalyst is, singular or multiple reflections, often in water but could be anything that reflects light. I often sit, fascinated by the ever-changing compositions that occur with, wind blowing the surrounding fauna, changing light levels, colour bouncing around on water. I could simply paint the scene, but for me, the essence is in the recollection, the painting, is my interpretation of a recollected memory.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a degree educated, full-time, independent artist living and working for over 25 years in Devon, with a studio at Elfordleigh near Plymouth, UK.. Sales are to collectors throughout the UK, US, China and Australia. I use artist quality paints and canvases with good archival longevity and all paintings are dispatched in bespoke wooden crates for ultimate protection in transit. I live and work in a beautiful part of the country, and take inspiration from that. I choose to interpret this, not necessarily by painting the topographical, but instead finding the ordinary to describe the extraordinary. I like to explore these, they are often far from being simple and uninspiring. I find there is a natural poeticism, look closely and you will find a complex tapestry of colour, texture, light and shade.
