I've been painting dogs for a few months after getting a commission, then just found that they're a wonderful subject. So expressive and great eyes. This mad-looking rescue dog won my heart and while painting him I saw a dog just like him outside Tesco's. I felt by then that I knew him so well I had to hug this strange dog! He's not pretty, but I bet he's wonderful and loving. You can probably say the same about most people.
