In this painting, the subject is shown to be divorced from the reality of the spiritual world and carried into his or her utopian dream of utter sublime beauty and relief. The jumble of squares near the center-top represents the mind and conscience of the human being. On the other hand, the disparity between the darkness and lightness represents the travel and transcendence from dark to light.
