About The Artwork
Acrylic on deep set wooden panel. The final piece produced for my exhibition 'Surface Tension' at Bloom Gallery Valencia. This work was produced with the help of a materials grant from Artrepeneur. The work uses a process based approach, slowly applying many layers of mark, from soft, particulated and chaotic in the background to an opaque matrix of triangles in the foreground. This series takes a look at our senses and layers of information in the universe. This particular piece attempts to convey a fundamental life force flowing through all living things with a helix based composition with a great deal of movement. The palette focuses on green and black in a white realm with touches of yellow and powder blue.
