Saviour's Day Painting

Richard Ward originally from the Midlands now living in Manchester, has studied and graduated with a non art degree at Demontfort University, and currently works in the insurance industry. He has experienced various roles in life including time in the armed services. He is self taught, previously using oil and water colour medium, he now prefers to work with acrylics for their versatility. Richard describes himself has a neo - expressionist using a painterly style of non discreet brush and knife strokes yet at times will combine the coarseness of painterly with the delicacy of realism, Like the mixing of the contrasting texture of a crumbly hard cheese and the smoothness of a chocolate Mousse, thus creating an interesting effect . His inspiration comes from within and not any particular artist sometimes just using the shapes and shades on the canvas.
