Scarlett Painting

I watched Gone With The Wind during the lockdown. Seeing the movie now, I can of course frown at all the out of date, cancellable parts of it. I still thoroughly enjoyed Scarlett O Hara in action. I remembered watching it with my family surrounded by the safety of a happy childhood. There is a scene where Scarlett has to walk into a birthday party, with everyone in there judging her guilty of immoral behaviour. I chose to paint her in that moment, head held high, rocking that stunning dress, bravely stepping into the lions den. Have you ever been in a situation like that? I have! I know that painting this helped me to tune in to being courageous. I set her in lush purple hand painted damask pattern setting so that the entire combination of Slightly haughty Scarlett with lush red and purple impart an uplifting and empowering energy.
