Serge Gainsbourg, (1928 -1991), is a French singer-songwriter, and incidentally, poet, pianist, painter, screenwriter, director, writer, actor and filmmaker.
If his notoriety outside the French-speaking world is limited to music professionals, he managed to rank two of his albums among the best selling records in the United States: Bonnie and Clyde (with Brigitte Bardot) ranked 12th on the Billboard 200 in 1968, and Jane Birkin / Serge Gainsbourg ranked 196th in 1970. Her song Je t'aime... moi non plus ranked 58th on the Billboard Hot 100, despite limited radio airplay due to censorship,13 but was even more successful in the UK where it was number one in sales. With Celine Dion's French-language albums, these performances are unmatched for French-language songs in the United States.

I am a passionate Dutch portraitist who lives and works in France (Blois). I paint personalities and people who touch me, inspired by their talent and vision of life. My paintings are a tribute to these artists of all kinds, authentic, pure and, in my opinion, talented. I started with figurative Portraits. Now I am experimenting with pop art and contrasting colors. I like to work in series: Forever 27, Jazz musicians and singers, Impressionist Painters, Pop Music Stars, French singing and musical artists. I am happy to share these portraits with you and invite you to discover them here.
