Stories and art that we inherited from ancient Greece tell us that Olympic games took place in the buff. At war soldiers wore shields but not often dressed the rest of the body. The Spartan army asked the soldiers joining to bring along their male lover. It's a documented fact :-) A soldier fights with more might when his lover is next to him, defending his life. This painting is dedicated to that brotherhood and love between the Spartans.
