About The Artwork

Blue is the colour of the German romanticism, 'Die Blaue Blume' - the blue flower, an idea of the poet Novalis, it's also a symbol of nostalgia and desire. In this work we can see a butterfly or maybe a magical forrest, which invites us to a romantic walk. This is what I love most at abstract art, everyone sees and feels something else, even the same person can see different things on different days. During the last months I loved to paint with ink, it's so delicate and the colours are brilliant. When you arrange the paintings upright they have the dimensions 26 x 42 cm, if you arrange them in a horizontal line, they have the dimensions 52 x 21 cm.

https://www.petrapainting.com https://www.instagram.com/petrapainting Born close to Nuremberg I grew up in the city of Albrecht Duerer and have been under the spell of this fascinating artist since I was a child. Besides my job as a dentist my heart always belonged to art. I painted every free minute, I wanted to capture the music of the waves, the fire of the setting sun and the hymn of the wind in my paintings. Inspired by visits of museums all over Europe my art got influenced by 'Informal Art'. My role models are Emil Schumacher, Anselm Kiefer, Jean Dubuffet, Alberto Burri and last but not least I was impressed deeply by Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline. With my paintings I want to express a passionated joy about the beauty of life, the beauty of art and the beauty of the world. And I would like to draw peoples' attention on current topics and issues. I want to make aware of the problems of our time as environmental destruction.
