About The Artwork
Having spent my teens in Stockholm, I adore the Swedish archipelago and its beauty, the rugged coastline with its many small communities, the remoteness of island life, it’s serene nature and simplicity and slower pace of living. I wanted to portray how, after the melancholy of summer coming to an end and many months of hibernating, the archipelago re-awakens every year after a long cold winter, explodes into life with colour, warmth, beckoning weary winter people out of their cocoons and inviting them embrace the cornucopia of what Spring has to offer.
