About The Artwork
Back in March and April when the coronavirus had first hit us and we were in lockdown, I saw this marvellous fern growing outside my studio window. The power of Spring growth and the colours made me feel a lot better - there was some hope after all. I wanted to get that feeling into the painting and, looking at it now, I think I succeeded. Really the painting is entirely green, and the fern is surrounded by new shoots of other plants growing nearby.
