A Dogfight has a certain vicious voracity different from a Bullfight. A defeated dog, much like the human, bears its disgrace like a heavy, impending shadow. Accompanied by death follows birth, the two inseparable sides of being... consciousness. Study for Dogfight is a painting on paper inspired by Francis Bacon's bullfight studies. An arena- aftermath, foreground filled by a dog with pan-like shadow, accompanied by strained matador with white shadow, fertilised, juxtaposed by a banderillero jolting out of "sombre" over stockade in assistance, or... I like using pastel, charcoal, graphite and sand, combined with acrylics add earthiness and dimension to a painting.
