About The Artwork

Contemporary Enso Zen circle brushed on Xuan rice paper and mounted with pale yellow silk fabric, which gives the Enso calligraphy a moon-like finishing. The hanging scroll is ready to be hung on a wall. The Zen Enso circle recalls our Buddha Mind, which capacity is like space, empty, vast and limitless. Just as the Enso circle, the Buddha Mind is whole and complete with nothing lacking. This Enso circle is brushed with a calm straightforward brush stroke, radiating an expansive open energy. Size of the entire scroll in m/cm: 1,15 m x 45 cm x 0.2 cm Size of the Enso circle calligraphy : 34,5 x 34,5 cm; 13.5 x 13.5 in Please note that the white borders showing in the 'View in A Room' image are not on the original artwork.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My artwork comprises Zen calligraphy, watercolor and ink paintings, and abstract calligraphies. My mediums are ink, watercolors and natural pigments on rice paper, mainly Xuan paper. I wield the Chinese and Japanese brush, preferably the flexible sheep's hair brush. Many of my Zen calligraphies express the Emptiness teaching from the Heart Sutra, which has been the original inspiration for my Japanese calligraphy artwork. Other calligraphies focus on the teachings of the Diamond Sutra, Platform Sutra, or depict Zen koan, Zen poetry or single kanji. In my watercolors and ink paintings I strive for a pictorial synthesis of the subject, in the spirit of Japanese ink painting, using bold washes and vivid brush strokes.
