What inspired The Cloisters/Tsunami piece was in 2002 Boston Roman Catholic Church's archbishop had to step down because of Catholic priest sex abuse scandals. This was on going issues that Catholic Church was facing. Right after Twin Towers were destroyed, we visited New York and we also visited MET Cloisters in Manhattan. We visited the zero zone where there were still a lot of ashes at stores around the zone and smoldering and excavating were visible. Along the disasters such devastating tsunami hit Indonesia.

Social cultural issue in current and historical context is the core of my work. I have created many series such as McDonald's Hamburgers Invading Japan, 31 Flavors Invading Japan, Pollution and Non-Smoking Series in the 70's. AIDS Series in the 80's. In early 90's I began to investigate human sexuality issue in relation to Catholic priests sex abuse. The thematic series has evolved into extensive personal quest. Confessional Series and Cloisters Series are inspired by the extensive research that I had done in the 90's. Most current series is called The Last Supper Series which addresses the ancient institution's sexual ethics/celibacy v civil rights in the context of contemporary social climate and secularism.
