About The Artwork
This painting was inspired by Arthur Rimbaud's poem, Le Bateau Ivre (The Drunken Boat). One of my most enduring interests in subject matters has been Astronauts and Spacewalks. Reading this poem at an early age, and having had it make a very strong impression on me, over the years it became relative and almost synonymous with astronaut spacewalks and the confrontation with Nature and the cosmic ocean. DB is a subject I am only beginning to be able to develop in my work on the level I have wanted to.
