The Einstein arriving in Dublin Painting

I have been preoccupied with the nature of time since childhood. Do we travel through it like space or is it just an illusion of the brain, the brains best guess as to what it causing certain sensations/perceptions. As Berkeley said, Esse Es Percipi or to be is to be perceived. I began by painting shipping in Istanbul, fascinated by the constant arrival and departure of ships from all over the world like small ripples or waves their tempo fascinates. Like our bodies, they carry people, hopes, aspirations, memories and goods. So for me they are a metaphor for people moving through time. I was influenced by Artists like Nicholas de Stael's paintings of boats and Camille Souter's paintings of aircraft but mainly by the sight of the boats themselves.
