About The Artwork

This series of works presents an artificial model of my memories. Rethinking family relationships has become for me a practice of self-discovery. The experience acquired in childhood is mythologized in the mind of an adult. The interior of a post-Soviet apartment becomes indistinguishable from the imaginary world of children's games. Real experiences are also indistinguishable from a mask that has to be put on according to the rules of the game. The territory of the apartment is divided into zones that can cause anxiety and fear, and into zones where the hero can feel safe. “The floor is lava” is the fear of taking a step on the floor, which develops into a fear of touching the real world.

Her works are also held in private collections in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, China, Italy, Kazakhstan, and Russia. Currently, the artist resides and works in Budapest, Hungary and plans to gain recognition through exhibitions and collaborations with European Artists. Milada's work explores universal themes, reflecting the societal and cultural challenges of contemporary life giving an apocalyptic aftertaste. Her figurative painting serves as a commentary on the loss of global mythologies and answers existential questions of the human experience. Her art is deeply personal yet resonates with a broader audience, particularly those who came of age in the post-Soviet era.
