About The Artwork

Valentine's Day takes its name from a Catholic saint, Saint Valentine. Living as a priest or bishop before his martyrdom, Valentine would have been celibate. To become a saint, he had to first be martyred...by beheading. So, Saint Valentine was celibate. Then, beheaded. Happy Valentine's Day, history lovers.

I explore stories, history (and herstory), and beliefs through art. I was born in a cold snowy mining town in the middle of nowhere. I now paint in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Visit my website at www.echoingmultiverse.com
