The Infinite Never Stops Painting

Part of an ongoing exploration of Colonel Sanders as unintentional(?) performance artist through the lens of a formal painting process. I am very much inspired by Pollock's use of figurative underpaintings that he later obscured, and his influence on the tradition of performance art. This piece marks a new level of materials and process in my practice. I started out small in order to scale this process to much bigger pieces. I have pretty much abandoned the use of acrylic paint at this point (was using almost exclusively before). This work is more about oil-based materials and solvents that dissolve them. The feeling I hope to evoke is seduction by surface, then add the layers of conceptual detail.
