About The Artwork
Inspired by yoga pose called "The Lord of Dance". This is one of painting from my yoga series. I'm creating metaphor on how things appear to be soft but withhold a tremendous strength. In this work, I build the thin layers paint carefully to creat the desired effect. The painting is unframed. The text on the painting is from Laozi, the ancient Chinese philosopher “Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness.” ― Lao Tzu
