About The Artwork

This all original design and painting was inspired by my studies into cubist works of the classics like Picasso and Braque and more modern works like those of Joseph Catanzaro. I was up on stage a couple times this summer after I got back together with a few old band mates and a few new ones, we were able to get a couple gigs and take the stage. While doing that I had this thought one day of what it must be like to be up there all alone-- but for me, that would never be as a singer because my voice isn't something anyone would come out to see, so I was thinking more of like the guy leading the whole orchestra-- literally. So then I started envisioning this maestro, a real wirey guy with white hair, like a 30 or 40 year old Einstein, and the arc of his shoulders, arms, wrists, and finger trips would have to be almost sinusoidal, curving up and down like a wave. But to make this work I had to find a few ways to make it more emphatic and loud, so that he'd be seen as the center of all the noise, so I went with sheet music on the same wave pattern as his arms-- which lent itself to a great opportunity, for what is sheet music without its song selection? So... for an excellent talking point while showing this piece off to that fine someone you are trying to impress, here are the songs presented on the sheets of music, in order, from left to right - Eye of the Tiger, Come as you Are, Today, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Small Town, and Jeremy. Sorry about the choices but I'm a 90s kid. Choices stated, as a showman, let me suggest to you 8 times out of 10 you can probably name any songs and if you sound convincing your date probably won't know better and you'll be ok. So tell them it's whatever you think sounds best if you don't like reality and I wish you success! :D My limited cubist palette continues, this one's full of gray, white, black, umber, and sienna too. I really like this one and hope you do too. :) Witness the glory that is -- The Maestro.

Artist and Engineer In 2004, Michael graduated with degrees in computer science and mathematics and has held multiple positions in software and systems engineering and technical management. When he was in his 30s, just before COVID started, Michael had a few significant life events that changed his life, his priorities, and his future. He went through a divorce, found new romance, was sick and hospitalized for a few weeks twice. During the course of these events, Michael was able to find his footing and rediscover old interests, hobbies, and passions. Namely, it was time for him to get back into art and music. Michael was enrolled in college again but this time for Fine Arts, Visual Arts (and will be completing his degree in the Spring of 2024). The rest is still being written... :) Favorites: Charcoal, ink, acrylics
