How can one pin down "now"? What is "now" almost immediately becomes "then." Unplanned events occur; one thing leads to another; choices must be made. Life is complex, dynamic. When questioning such complexities, it is fruitful to consider the simplest aspect of life. Cells, the smallest units of life, are able to grow, replicate, divide, move, and die. Each cell is able to respond to its environment and communicate with other cells. Thus, the traces of our present(s) describe networks of clusters, nodes, pathways, and, above all, connectivity.
