About The Artwork
This painting is inspired by the pond in the gardens of the Maison Lacombe in Joliette and is part of the Tree Paintings series. The imagery in this painting is very complex and I almost lost myself in there! The complexity is due in part to the great number of details and also the overlapping of trees and water lilies. The colors are vibrant and there are some beautiful subtleties achieved with the layering of subsequent layers of transparent color.
