About The Artwork
This beautiful watercolor painting of the Print Collector was originally painted around 1860 by the French Impressionist painter Honoré Daumier. The subject of the painting shows a collector searching for his next possible addition to his collection just like so many art connoisseurs, you and I included. The painting is painted with a simple limited palette of colors. The broken outlines in ink help define the delicate shapes. I used only the finest quality paper, cold pressed 140lb Arches paper, and Schmincke Horadam Aquarell watercolor paints.
