This painting is part of my Series of Hungary Today, which consists of my political critical and social critical artworks. The painting was inspired by my anger at the fact that one day I woke up to my government wanting to rewrite the historical memory of my country. You may have heard of 1956 when Hungary revolted against Soviet repression and revolutionaries fought rifles and Molotov cocktails with Russian tanks on the streets of Budapest. The statue in the picture depicts the Prime Minister proclaiming the war of independence, Imre Nagy, who was hanged by the new regime after the defeat of the revolution because he refused to regret opposing Soviet power. Our government, which calls itself national and anti-communist, wants to erase the memory of this man, which is why I made this painting. This work will be delivered with Care Instruction of my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity. Carefully packaged and tracked shipping. I ship this works in cardboard boxes carefully wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard. If you like my paintings you can have a piece of art for your beloved place. Thanks for your considering me!

„I show the details instead of the whole, sort of inviting the viewer to embrace and understand their surroundings” Dora Stork was selected artist in the London Art Biennale in 2023, an award-winning Hungarian painter whose art has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Hungary, and Romania. Her work can also be found in many private collections in the United States, the European Union, and Japan. Dora is an abstract realistic encaustic artist: abstract in the world of color, realistic in the world of form, and symbolist in meaning. As a politically minded painter, she is interested in public life as well as social and economic processes. She presents her particular vision in these works. The dreamlike compositions are her intuitive reflections on public issues. At the same time, seemingly astonishing, strange circumstances and inappropriate details on a rational sphere might evoke questions in the viewer. She mainly uses pure wax and pigments to make her paintings. Over the years, she has developed a medium that does not contain oil or any non-waxy additives. When she occasionally paints with acrylic, the characteristics of her figurative style transform into an imaginary interpretation of nature. Dora is an active, awarded member of her community and regularly takes part in their group exhibitions every year.
