I imagine people at the beach enjoying the water and the summer weather. Some people are swimming others are watching. This is the summer of 2018, beautiful in numer of sun hours, but frightening as a marker of climate change and CO2 in the atmosphere. New record in numer of sun hours in Denmark was beaten on August 26 with 771 hours (old record =770 hours), and still more days with sun will come before the end of August. (observations since 1920). Heatwave, Drought, Forest Fires are new threats from Lulå and Trondheim to the Alpes.

Zonation paintings focus on integrating and balancing the elements: lines, tones and colours. I follow an expressionist painting philosophy inspired by Cézanne, Kleé and followers. Motives: Copenhagen cityscapes, croquis, stilleben. Artworks in acrylics, oil, aqua oil, multicoloured chalk, aquarelle and pencils. Artist video: http://vimeo.com/5322606 Artist podcast (Fr): http://podcloud.fr/podcast/choses-a-savoir-art/episode/artiste-a-decouvrir-hans-jorgen-henriksen I use the acronym 'de Hansi' in order to distinct my painting activities from my professional work as a hydrologist. I am a Danish hydrologist currently working as a principal investigator and researcher at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland at Øster Voldgade 10, 1350 in Copenhagen (working in close cooperation with Copenhagen University institute for geology and geography). I am known for my research in the field of hydrogeology, with a focus on groundwater resources and their management, as well as the impact of climate change on groundwater systems. I have published many papers in the international scientific journals, and I am also a member of several scientific organisations.
