About The Artwork
I was inspired to paint "The Temple and the calf'' after my visit to Northern India, especially Amritsar. I was particularly surprised by the enormous gap between the rich and the very poor yet they lived in such proximity to each other without it seeming to cause concern. In the painting of the 'Temple & The calf', I have tried to symbolise that discrepancy.
