About The Artwork
The black & white painting 'Two together' is part of the series "Pre-millennium lovers" which was made under the wider idea/series "A year black & white" in 1998-99. The painting is made with acrylic paint on coated paper of sturdy quality. Two together was more a wish than a reality then; we were restless and rather bumping into each other than being together in any imaginable way. As form, I was experimenting with double drawing; that is what makes two layers, the black at the back with its own space and the linear white at the front with the more figurative narration. The edges of the paper are not cut straight so the size is given approximately; they are also rough which goes together with the identity of the work. The work is sent in a tube and needs to be framed.
