When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.” – Paulo Coelho Wietzie created "Untamed Force" with a painting knife using different mark making techniques, which resulted in a textured surface. The flowers are done impasto style. Warm Fall colors in a imaginary flowerscape. Rust, ochre, warm white, deepest red and brown black on a warm grey and light taupe background. Wietzie uses the symbol of the flower to create a special intimacy with the audience, the latter being the perfect representation of human emotion: "it changes every minute and dies too early". Due to its size, the painting will be shipped rolled.

My work is part of the French Lyrical Abstract art movement, depicted by emotive, expressive, and imaginary compositions that emphasis colour and shape. I create my work through a unique technique of vigorous knife strokes that creates a textured and layered surface full of impasto markings. Thereafter I use sweeping thick movements of paint in a dynamic spontaneous manner that depict the ephemeral nature of light and the passing of time.
