Vision of Ezekiel Painting

The canvas "Ezekiel's Vision" refers to my series of paintings painted on a religious theme. The plot itself is based on a vision of one of the four main Old Testament prophets - Ezekiel "Glories of the Lord" by the river Khovar. This topic attracted not only me but attracted the attention of various artists, from the era of the Early Renaissance to the era of Art Nouveau. About a dozen times after reading the Old and New Testaments, each time I perceived the scripture in a new way and each time it opened up new sides for me. The plot of the vision to the prophet Ezekiel has always left a lasting impression on me. According to traditional scripture, the holy prophet Ezekiel lived in the VI century BC. Born in the city of Sarira, came from the tribe of Levi, was a priest and the son of a priest Vuzi. During the second invasion of Jerusalem by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, at the age of 25, Ezekiel was taken to Babylon with king Jehonia II and many other Jews. In captivity, the prophet Ezekiel lived by the river Khovar. There, on the 30th year of his life, in a vision, the future of the Jewish people and of all mankind was revealed to him. The Prophet saw a shining cloud, in the middle of which there was a flame, and in it - a mysterious likeness of a spirit-driven chariot and four winged animals, each having four faces: a man, a lion, a calf and an eagle. In front of their faces were wheels dotted with eyes. A crystal vault towered above the chariot, and above the vault was a semblance of a sparkling sapphire. On this throne there is a radiant “likeness of Man,” and a rainbow in His circle (Ezek. 1: 4-28). The vision of the prophet Ezekiel was that the “Glory of the Lord” appeared to him on the Howar River in the form of a radiant combination of four creatures - tetramorph, or as Merkava is also called ... In my painting I portrayed Ezekiel sitting on the ground near the Howar River, on the left - the figure of the Messenger of the Most High, who ordered him to eat a scroll. And when Ezekiel ate the scroll in his mouth, it was sweet as honey, but then it became bitter in his chest. In the background, I depicted the "Glory of the Lord" exactly as I imagine it. In my opinion, beings from the Higher World appeared to be prophets on their "technical means", which now resemble a little modern human technology. And this applies not only to Ezekiel, but also to the prophet Elijah, being ascended to heaven in a "chariot of fire." The visions of the prophets were accompanied by symbols that they could not at first understand and explain ...
