About The Artwork
During the bitterly cold winter of 1814 the river Thames froze and quickly the ice was covered with people, bars and food stalls as Londoners gathered to party. The ice was so thick that an elephant was paraded cross the Thames. The hedonism lasted for five days until February 5th. This was to be the last London frost fair.
