About The Artwork

Woman in violet blue I have always loved the great artist Amedeo Modigliani (Modì) with his elongated, slender figures, with his very stylized, elegant, synthetic female portraits, those "long-necked ladies" have become his stylistic trademark. So I wanted to pay homage to him by painting a female figure with a Modì neck, with the addition of a raised nose in colored clay. It was not my intention to imitate him, or much less copy him, but to remember him in that particular graphic of him. The support is made of plywood held slightly raised from the wall thanks to wooden blocks on the back which give it a lightness in harmony with the image. I think I succeeded.

Born in Italy in Marche region, after many year of life in Milano. I attended the art high school and the Book art school in Urbino, with a cartoon focus. I worked in the Bozzetto studio as an animator, artistic director and director. I participated, as a character creator, in the film “Allegro Non Troppo”. I have collaborated on some Enzo D’Alò films in Lanterna Magica. Later I had my own production company. (Motusfilm) I have been an illustrator and author of children's books and the author of several animated short films awarded at various national and international festivals. I currently riturn to live in the Marche region .Here I work on portraits, and I paint personal interpretations of the human figure and portrait, two and three dimensional, with mixed techniques ranging from clay, digital, acrylic, photocopy, papier-mâché. Why the portraits? Because I'm curious about human nature. In the last exhibition I exhibited more than 50 plates of portraits of contemporary artists, where I not only show the face of the artist, but also his art that mixes and intertwines with my work, that is, I adapt to his style, and his style is adapted to my composition, sometimes even leaving out the verisimilitude, to give more space to what I perceive of that artist. From an early age I enjoyed drawing and coloring, and this propensity has never abandoned me, on the contrary it has been further increased by the artistic direction of the various schools I attended. In my works there is everything that I absorbed in the place of my childhood, that is: the masks, the carnival, the allegorical float, which were and still are a moment of happiness and joy and, especially my thirty-year profession as a cartoonist.
