I had to meet this man whose evasive extraordinary eyes could change so much from a bird-like intense and hard look, to a soft watery gaze when talking about his son. I saw him in the gym and asked a friend to introduce us, I had to paint his face, and I did, eventually. I could paint him again and again, some faces have a never-ending allure to them that attracts you without knowing exactly why.
