abuelo Painting

‎"abuelo" - acrylic on canvas - 100cmx80cm.This painting is for Isla. The character in blue is me whilst Isla is robed in (st.john) red. The birds represent her mother (my daughter) Laura and her father -Lorcan, whilst the flowers are their extended familes - all now related to Isla - a little shared gene-pool of happiness. The fish represent the bounty that I wish upon my grandchild, the trees (around my head) represent the knowledge/wisdom that I hope to pass on to her and the rainbow is about Isla achieving her ambitions- even the orange frame/window has it's own significance - Isla on one side of a screen - secure in her loving family unit, me on the other side – perhaps away on some travel but thanks to modern technology like the internet - always in touch and always close!
