The 'glitch' paintings are part of a series that deal with the representation of analog art, such as paintings, in a digital forum such as on a website. In this case what I have done is appropriate the work of Takeo Tanabe from the internet and corrupted the data within the images to create new digital versions of them. Using these digital versions as the basis for new interpretive paintings. Kind of a digital telephone game. The idea is to put the "purity of the information" in conflict with the experience of the object.
