About The Artwork

inspired by andy wharhol's gold rorschach painting, lela altman created her own misunderstood rorschach. andy wharhol, having never been to a psychologist, but having seen images of the rorschach test, created his own rorschach. however, he falsely believed that patients visit psychologists and create rorschach images during the visit, to be read and interpreted by the psychologist. in creating his rorschach, he believed he could expose his mind and soul to the interpretation of the viewer. lela altman believes that the viewer is privy to the soul of the artist. and here, she shares her own "misunderstood" rorschach.
