"As if the conventional language were finished and a natural need had made the words pass to the strokes as an expression. This is how the artistic initiation of Elisa Oropesa came about, from the emptiness that could only be filled by "drawing doodles" as the painter says, a characteristic that is immersed in the human being "because it is the only thing we know how to do or think we can do better", the need to create from any path" I was born in Santiago and I grew up in the city of Los Andes, V region. Thanks to the inheritance of my father sculptor, painter and potter, I maintained from childhood direct contact with art materials and aesthetic experiences. In the mid-'90s I began my formal studies of art, in order to professionalize that artistic heritage and investigate contemporary techniques. After a long period dedicated to graphic design work, towards 2009 I was able to resume the workshop experience giving materiality to the ideas registered during the periods of "visual accumulation". Currently, I develop my work in ceramics, graphics, and painting at the same level of importance and production. Addressing issues related to the representation of nature and its relation to the human condition from an abstract perspective, as well as problems inherent to the creative experience and the critical space of art in its educational function. I do paint and pottery workshops (U. Mayor) within the U3e project for seniors. At the same time, I am starting an enterprise [Gallina arte & diseño], together with other artists and designers.
