Through my "Wet Eyelash Look" project, I aim to capture a deeply personal experience of vulnerability and emotional overwhelm. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression, I am intimately familiar with the feeling of tears clouding my vision and rendering the world around me a blurry, indistinct mess. My photographs seek to convey this sensation, using water as a potent visual metaphor for the tears that obscure and cleanse. The resulting images are dreamlike and abstract, with colours and shapes blending together in a way that mirrors the way our perceptions can be altered by our emotional states. By exploring this fluidity and ambiguity, I hope to challenge the conventional notion of photography as a medium of precise representation. For me, this project is deeply cathartic, as it allows me to confront and process my own emotions in a creative and constructive way. At the same time, I hope that it will resonate with others who have experienced similar feelings of vulnerability and fragility. By sharing these images with the world, I aim to promote greater empathy and understanding for those who are struggling with mental health issues. Ultimately, my "Wet Eyelash Look" project is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, even in the face of profound emotional turmoil. By embracing the blurry, indistinct picture of the world created by tears, I hope to encourage others to confront their own emotions with greater honesty and vulnerability.
