About The Artwork
Lightning flashes create a spectacular display over the sea, off the coast of Belgium. My wife and I saw this storm moving along the coast from our penthouse terrace. We grabbed our cameras. I shot on film using my Hasselblad with a standard lens. I deliberately included the foreground to show the context. I wanted to convey the contrast between nature’s electricity and the tame version we use to light our homes and run our appliances.
